We're looking for a dedicated Guest Experience Host to join our team and deliver exceptional experiences on our luxury river cruises. General Responsibilities

  • Guest Interaction & Service

    • Greet guests in a professional and friendly manner, ensuring they feel welcome and valued.

    • Provide accurate information about shipboard services, including daily programs, tours, shore excursions, and other guest inquiries.

    • Offer recommendations and sell shore side activities to enhance the guests' experience and maximize their time ashore.

    • Handle guest complaints or concerns in a timely and effective manner, ensuring a positive resolution and maintaining high satisfaction levels.

    • Act as the main point of contact between guests and the onboard team for all guest-related inquiries and issues.

  • Shore Excursion Support

    • Assist the Guest Experience Manager in the preparation and coordination of shore excursions.

    • Participate in shore excursions to ensure smooth operations and to provide guests with an engaging, informative, and enjoyable experience.

    • Ensure that all excursions are run according to company standards, maintaining high levels of guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.

    • Prepare and organize tour packages, briefing materials, and manifests to ensure excursions are executed flawlessly.

    • Monitor the status of tours and handle any on-the-day issues or adjustments that may arise.

  • Operational & Additional Duties

    • Perform additional duties vital to the ship’s daily operation, such as gangway duties and assisting with crew-related tasks as assigned by the Purser.

    • Handle disembarkation information, provide guests with assistance, and ensure smooth transitions during departure.

    • Maintain high levels of attention to detail for day-to-day operational tasks and guest satisfaction.

    • Prepare printed materials for guests' suites, including welcome letters, farewell cards, questionnaires, and other necessary documents.

Financial Responsibilities

  • Assist in processing payments for shore excursions, handling guest transactions, and ensuring that the correct charges are made to guest accounts.

  • Work closely with the Purser to manage the financial aspects of guest services.

Safety & Emergency Responsibilities

·        Enforce the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in all work areas to ensure a safe environment.

·        Promote and practice Safe Lifting Techniques to prevent workplace injuries.

·        Ensure that all equipment is securely stored when not in use, adhering to safety protocols as outlined in the Safety Card.

·        Participate in guest and crew safety drills, including lifeboat drills and other emergency preparedness activities, as required.

·        Assist with emergency duties and other safety-related tasks as assigned.

 

Team Communication & Meetings

  • Maintain close communication with the Guest Experience Manager, Purser, and the SPA team to ensure smooth operations and high guest satisfaction.

  • Regularly attend briefings, team meetings, and training sessions to stay up-to-date with new procedures and guest service expectations.

REQUIREMENTS

Education & Position Requirements

  • Preferred: College Degree/Diploma in Hospitality, Tourism, or a related field.

  • Minimum: Two (2) years of experience in a luxury hotel front desk position, one (1) year experience onboard a luxury cruise ship with high guest contact, or equivalent experience in the shore excursions department.

  • Language Skills:

    • Fluent in written and spoken English (mandatory).

    • Intermediate proficiency in German.

    • Fluency in additional languages such as French, Spanish, or Portuguese is a plus.

  • Key Skills & Competencies:

    • Excellent interpersonal and public communication skills.

    • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and other relevant company systems.

    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task efficiently.

    • Must possess the ability to interact with all levels of people and remain calm under pressure.

    • Outgoing, engaging, and professional personality with a focus on service excellence.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to handle the physical demands of the role, including standing for long periods and assisting with luggage and other tasks as necessary.

  • Ability to remain composed and professional during busy periods, ensuring guest satisfaction remains a priority.

·        Be flexible and willing to take on additional tasks as assigned by the Guest Experience Manager or Hotel Director.
