The Riverside Mozart is an exceptional phenomenon. As one of the largest river cruise ships on the Danube, and certainly the most well-appointed, she knows – just like her famous namesake – how to captivate and constantly surprise her guests.
With 81 Suites, 5 Restaurants & Bars, Spa and Fitness area as well as butler service for every guest, we have created a wonderful foundation for the entire team to create unique guest and team experiences.

  • To provide a personal five- star service to Guests at all times and to deal with Guest complaints and comments in an efficient and timely manner.
  • To provide Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Bar service and to make onboard reservations for Spa, Vintage Room, etc. upon request.
  • To ensure that assigned pantries and lockers kept clean and tidy at all times and in accordance to safety rules and regulations, following details of HACCP.

Job requirements

General Responsibilities

  • To provide a personal five-star service to all Guests at all times and to deal with Guest complaints and comments in an efficient and timely manner.
  • To assist with any assigned duties in all F&B outlets on board (Restaurants, Bar, Bistro)
  • To provide Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Bar service and to make onboard reservations for Spa, Vintage Room, etc. upon request.
  • To make onboard reservations, pack/unpack and shine shoes for all Guests upon their request.
  • To do deliveries (such as laundry, gifts, etc.) to all Guests.
  • To replenish drinks, ice twice a day or as necessary.
  • To log the Guests personal Laundry, send it down to the Laundry for washing, dry cleaning or pressing, and deliver it back to Guests in a timely manner.
  • To order sufficient soft drinks, liquor/wine for all pantries and to ensure that Menus are distributed to designated Suites in a timely manner (as per assigned side-duty and schedule).
  • To ensure that assigned pantries and lockers kept clean and tidy at all times and in accordance to safety rules and regulations, following details of HACCP.
  • To follow the proper cleaning and maintenance procedures of equipment in Pantries at all times.
  • To clean and refill the Coffee Machines in assigned pantries properly, as per schedule and according maintenance manuals.
  • To ensure that all equipment is properly and securely stored away when not on duty.
  • To report work orders to the Housekeeping Office when deficiencies are noted or when maintenance is required and to follow up on the work orders in a timely manner.
  • To complete a Work Registration Form correctly every month and to submit it to the Restaurant Manager in a timely manner.
  • Check with Restaurant Manager for daily update on guest needs and special requirements.
  • Each month an inventory of all China, Glass and Silverware to be taken and report given to Restaurant Manager.
  • To adhere to all Company Policies and Procedures, Manuals and Directives.
  • Other responsibilities, as assigned, but not limited to the above.

Financial Responsibilities

  • To be cost conscious with the use of consumables and bonded items.
  • To be cost conscious with the use of cleaning materials.
  • To keep crockery and glassware breakages to a minimum.
  • To be cost conscious with pantry food and locker inventory.
  • To ensure that Company property is maintained properly and treated with respect at all times.

Safety Responsibilities

  • To properly use Personal Protective Equipment in work areas at all times.
  • To practice Safe Lifting Techniques at all times.
  • To do In Port Manning duties as scheduled and as required by Company policy.
  • Emergency Duties:
  • To follow instructions noted on Safety.
  • To participate in Guest/Crew Lifeboat Drills as per instructions.
  • Other safety responsibilities, as assigned, but not limited to the above.

Education/Position Requirements

  • College Degree/Diploma and/or Hotel Management School or other relevant apprenticeship in the food service industry required.
  • Butler School, beneficial.
  • Or Minimum of three (3) years proven experience in a luxury international hotel property or two (2) years’ experience in the luxury cruise ship industry preferred.
  • Fluent in Written and spoken English.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Must have very good organizational skills and show attention to detail.
  • Must undergo onboard HACCP training.
  • Must have initiative and the ability to work independently.
  • Must be able to remain calm under pressure.
  • Must be service minded with an outgoing, charming and friendly personality.


Team Communication and Meetings

  • To communicate with the Restaurant Manager on a regular basis.
  • To conduct Butlers meetings on regular basis.
